Christmas Home Tour 2020
Hi there and welcome to our cozy Christmas home tour for 2020!
I’m trying something a little different this year and doing this tour a little later in the afternoon and with just candles, lamps, and Christmas lights going so it is a little darker and moodier than my tours of Christmases past. In fact, it has been a few years since I have done a Christmas house tour (or any home tour for that matter) and there have been a few changes done. Honestly, a lot of the changes have been done in the past few months so they are pretty new to us too. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
First up is our newly painted master bedroom. We painted it in November so pretty recently and so far have really been enjoying it. It is a very dark navy blue (Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore) and we went with a very dark colour because our room is south facing and has a lot of windows so a lot of natural light. Izzy the kitty decided to “help” make this room even cozier. This post has a lot of photos so feel free to grab a festive drink of your choosing, relax and enjoy!
The “painting” in the picture above is actually a photograph my husbands grandfather took many years ago.
More Christmas Tours here:
Moving onto the main living area, which is an open plan living room, dining room, and kitchen. Our tree is actually setup right in the big bay window at the front of the house where our dining table usually sits but since Christmas will be a lot quieter this year and we won’t be having anyone over we decided our table can be a little cramped to accommodate our lovely tree.
Our lovely tree! One of our best trees ever I think! P.S our chandelier is not normally held with a string this way but we had to do something to keep it away from the tree.
I am really loving the way our living room is looking right now. (You can see past versions of our living room HERE and HERE.)
Our beautiful nativity scene set up in a local wood workers adaptation of a stable. I absolutely love this piece.
Our Christmas village all set up with barn and firehouse additions. (My husband is now the fire chief for our area so it was added when he got that position).
Next is the kitchen. I only shared pictures of the tops of the kitchen cupboards as we are kind of mid-reno (a mini one anyway) and the rest of the kitchen is a disaster.

I hope you have enjoyed our 2020 Christmas home tour. I know we have enjoyed decorating for Christmas this year and it has helped keep our spirits up despite all that is going on in the world. Lots of candles, greenery, homemade food and goodies, our eldest daughter back from Uni and just trying to enjoy the little things together. I hope you and your family stay well this holiday season and that you take time to enjoy the little things.
Merry Christmas!
