Throwback Thursday ~ Christmas Tour 2013
I am linked up at The Nesting Place 2013 Christmas Tour of Homes so for anyone joining me from there, Welcome!
It’s that time of year again, Christmas home tour time!
I’ll be honest and say this is not a Perfect home tour in fact its anything but, (moving six people into a smaller house takes awhile to get things Perfect ) Good thing I’m not striving for perfection. And like one of my favorite bloggers, the Nester, always says, It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.
See what I mean? They are little trouble makers! It’s good thing they are still cute…
Anyways, beside the tree is this cabinet which I decked out in a bunch of our Christmassy stuff,
The tree painting was done by my sister (the one who lives with us) a few years ago and I love it. I also love the cute tiny silver reindeer and the mercury glass candle holder.
On the middle shelf is our nativity and a past Christmas photo of the kids and a sweet angel decoration made by Nyla.
the dining area,
Our little Christmas village by day,
and by night,
The other night, just before I went to bed and was walking around shutting all the lights off, I was struck by how pretty everything looked with just these little village lights and our tree lights on so I grabbed my camera and had to try and capture some of the magic.
I love this cute barn and I LOVE that picture of Cadence in the background (boy does nine years go by fast!)
This bead garland and grapevine wreath are over top of my desk, I tore off the ugly ribbon previously bedecking the wreath and liked the natural look of it so much I decided to leave it as is. My decorating plan this year has been keeping it simple and easy so that’s what I’ve done. KISS Keep It Simple Sam.
This wall is at the opposite end of the living room than the last picture and it has been tweaked so many times already! One of these days I will share a post on a couple different looks this side has gone through in the last couple months.
This wall is a constant work in progress as I’m slowly adding things to the gallery wall which has actually been quite fun! Most of the things on this wall were on our previous gallery wall.
And since we don’t have a mantle or a staircase or something like that to hang our stockings on, I figured this is a good place for them 🙂 The red bin to the right of the t.v has all our Christmas movies in it for nice easy access. The red bead garland was long enough to go around our whole living room so that is what I did.
And finally, we have this little reading corner with our basket of Christmas Books and a few cozy places to sit and read and enjoy a hot beverage 🙂
Whew! That was a lot of pictures! If you make it through all that, you deserve a medal or something (or maybe just go grab a Christmas cookie? shhhh I won’t tell)
Thank you for stopping by for my 2013 Christmas Home Tour!
